Content - 4/5

Of course, actual content is one of the most important things when it comes to documentary style books. This is especially important when it comes to books about serial killers, as those of us who enjoy learning about this topic usually enjoy reading about those we have already read about 1000 times (I'm looking at you Bundy).

The Killer Book of Serial Killers includes a lot of knowledge on the best known serial killers, like Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy (Killer Clown), Henry Lee Lucas, Aileen Wuornos, Dennis Rader (BTK), and much more. However, it also includes information on less known serial killers around the world. I give the content a 4 out of 5 rating, as it is diverse but I would still consider this book to be an introduction to the world of serial killers and a general overview of each person presented.

Readability - 5/5

The writing in this book is easy to follow, although very insightful. Even if you do not have much knowledge of the true crime or serial killer world, you will be able to follow along with most of the information provided in this book. They also clarify a lot of more specific language used throughout the book, making sure that every reader can follow along regardless of their current knowledge level!

Extra Content - 4/5

The only reason I am giving a 4 out of 5 for this section, is that I want to see more extra content. The extras provided were relevant and interesting, and placed strategically throughout the book. It was clear that they were not added simply for shock value or gore. For example, the authors provided an old crime scene photo of the murder of Mary Jane Kelly, believed to be the last of Jack The Ripper's victims. Although it is graphic, it gives a terrifying insight into what this woman had to go through. Sometimes, it's easy to forget that these were real individuals who suffered horribly and not just an urban legend. Especially when the murders happened so long ago.
